boilers broke again!!!

well yet again i got up this morning to find my house freezing and the boiler has broke yet again

this is the 6th time now sinse xmas so im not happy as me and kids have all got the flu so not feeling to good and having no hot water and centeral heating isnt helping 🙁

ive rang the council and the councillor but they just keep passing me on to other ppl

any 1 got any ideas what i can do now notsure.gif

Sorry to hear this Lisa, hope you get it sorted.
Did you know what they replaced last time / what part broke?

Do you know what type of boiler it is?

From marks previous post about his boiler jayp1983 said he new about heating systems etc.

erm the boiler is a (vokoia) i think as thats whats on the sheet

the 1st few times they was saying it was a fuse

then the next time he said it was the pump that had gone and that was making the fuse blow

then the next time he came and he said the guy didnt have a clue as he orderd the wrong part and hes wrote a list of things that he did on this sheet that they leave the customer

also ive rang council and they said there sending a surveyor out with a gas man either today or tomoro so more waiting 🙁

i wouldnt mind but this is the 6th time sinse xmas so surely they need to sort it or get me a new combi

Bloody hell, Lisa. . .
I'd go to the council (or the works dept) and not move till you get it
sorted.
& Go to your docs with your kids havin colds, and they might be able to
push things along.
Sounds daft but its worth a try.

i`ll try that tina as ive had flu for about 2 weeks and its getting worse, got pains in my chest now and when i start coughing in loads of pain.. dont really like to bother doctors but i might go now and see if they can help me

sorry to hear about your boiler, as for your problems with it the worst thing is that it is a vokera they are known for being a right pain in the backside. hte best thing to do would be just to hassle the council for you not having hot water/heating when you have a house with little'ns about, the company i work for make it a priority to make sure you would have both if there was kids about, even if it meant that we would have to find sum electric raditors to use. back to my point do you have any heating at all? if so it might help flicking the boiler on to heating and hot water and then run the hot tap, try turning it on and off a few times in quick succession(as it could be the diaphram) with combi boilers they always give priority to hot water. but if your are not getting any heat or hot water it could mean various other things that have gone wrong. (pcb(printed circuit board) ,fan,heat exchanger blocked. i hope this helps in any way

sounds like dirt in the heat exchanger to me you can get some flush from screw fix poor into radiators run for a couple of hours then drain down and watch all the crap come out . if your boiler keeps on cutting out and you have to reset it then this is the most likely cause.

had probs with my heating over xmas,,,was told to have heating and hot water on together,,,then wen heating went cold,,,run hot tap ,,then radiators came bk on ...then repeat etc....turned out to be the timer unit....after they changed the 3/4 valve?...new flue etc....

well thanks for all the replies ppl

the gasman came out last night and got it working again for me..

i had a gas fire in my living room and thats all i had,on the boiler its all digital and that all went off, so i never had no hot water or central heating

he said the same part has gone wrong as last time and it was a pump or some thing

ohh and on the piece of paper it says :

fitted new divertor head + nut to divertor body notsure.gif think thats what it says as cant read his writing lol

sorry to hear that it's happened again 🙁
if its a council property they are the worst for repairing boilers, they would rather spend money on fixing the exsisting boiler than replace the unit instead even if it cost more than a new boiler would have been in the first place. they just cant seem to understand that vokera boilers are tempremental once they have been fettled with so they keep installing them cost there cost effective. i hope that it gets sorted once and for all soon.

well its a council house that i got and council have just said that no 1 can come out till monday as there waiting for the same part again 🙁

ohh and 1 thing ppl - WATCH WHAT YOU WISH FOR!!!

when it broke at xmas i asked farther xmas for a gasman

hmmm... hes been 6 times now sinse xmas and now that the boiler has broke again hes coming again :lol:

well i cant really do nothing but laugh now as other than that i would be in tears by now 🙁

thanks for the replies ppl, and ivem asked council for another boiler .. they said theres nothing wrong with this 1 :lol: and i thought i was blonde!!!

any way... looks like another very cold night for me and the kids.. poor kettle is working over time at min lol

it's stupid to think that they can't justify spending 1x £1000approx to spending 5x £200-£300 for each visit. i do hope that i gets sorted soon

well im back and still got no hot water or central heating

me and kids now have flu and the last 2 nights the thermostat has been reading 3/5c in the house...

im now finding it hard as kids are asking why its not been fixed and ive got that rundown with every thing im now finding my self crying for nothing and snapping at kids and ppl :cry:

i`ve rang council and councillors but no 1 seems to want to know.. i rang papers and they said they cant do nothing either 🙁

the deadline for a gasman is tonight at 5pm so i just got to hope 1 turns up now
