Well that time has come when a new back box and centre section is required (joints just about to fall apart) Now i know i could probably repair it with a sleeve but does anyone know any prices for a new centre section and irmscher (expensive) back box before i ring vaux for some trade prices...?

Irmsher back boxes are about £290 and a remus centre section is £67. have a look here

you will be much better off having a custom SS one fitted for that kind of money.

I dont really want to mess about with other exhaust if im going to end up with emission lights on every now and then etc. Its lasted 5 years (80k) so i`ll just get whats on i think as i wont be keeping it for another 5 years.

But if you take it to a custom place you will see greater BHP (granted not much) you can have your own tail pipe and it will cost less.
Full custom system normally comes in at around £310 - £350 fitted.

£280 for a irmsher back box unfitted just seems a bit to much to be honest. Have you had a look on ebay you may be able to get a good second hand one for £100.

I have had a few exhausts done here http://www.exhaustsuk.co.uk/ never had any issues with em lights coming on etc.

What car you got, where are you, i replaced my centre section for a remus
& have the centre section still in the garage ?

Looking at geeting a remus myself and not sure if i should get the gasket see my thread below \/.

Just took it to local kwik fit (on a sunday 😉 )
£20 done the trick, so i just had the remus centre :roll:

You won't get emmission light problems with just changing the exhaust from the cat back. That only happens 'sometimes' when the pre-cat has been removed and the 200 cpi sport cat is fitted. A few people have mentioned that the light only comes on because the exhaust gases are flowing past the sensor in the cat too quickly and it throws a wobbly.

Those little tar spots will fly off with a bit of Autosol or other metal cleaner. These exhausts come up like new when you clean them.

Doesnt look too bad mate, whats the flange end like? Still solid and not starting to drop to bits? Just making sure thats all matey 🙂

Flange end is not too bad, still solid, nothing a good clean wont sort out. Let us know if your interested mate. I don't want a lot for it.
