Standard spec Interior

I just was wondering what the standard spec Interior was for the mk4 astra hatch.

I have an 2003 model, which has a silver centre console and a alloy gear nob.

But i have seen a lot which are black and have plastic / rubber gear nobs.

Was it optional extra or did they just change the spec on the later models?

They changed the spec on the SRI in 2003. My Mom had a 2004 1.8 SRI which had the same interior as yours, and they also come with a better steering wheel as well. The SXI is also the same I believe, as mine is 2002, and had the standard black interior.
