Oil usage

Hey all,

I've just a quick question, and that is;

How much oil do you go through in just under 4k miles?

I haven't topped up my oil since my cam chain replacement at vauxhall and have covered some long journeys. I checked my oil today (and will again soon to back this up) and i'm one notch from full which sounds a bit odd as I would expect a car of 80k on the clock to use a bit more than that.

I'm not complaining though, although I will do an oil change in 2k miles to be safe.

Mine uses hardly any at all and its on 95k. Cant really put a figure on it as its had 3 oil changes in the last 4 months (1 for service, 1 when benny done my chain and then 1k after chain change). Ive never needed to top it up though, its always sat just under max mark and never seems to move

some use loads others use none

my vec uses hardly any, don't know about the vx220 yet, but as I will be fitting new piston rings or pistons I expect little useage of oil

Mine has always used loads, about a 1 litre every 1.5K, even after the new head pistons etc. it still uses about 1/2 a litre evry 1.5K i have got a bit of a heavy right foot though.
