loss of power

think i may have read a similer post in the past and just wondered if any1 had any coments, i drive an astra coupe 2.2 51 plate, done 26000 miles.
sometimesi get in my car and it feels great and im flying around with plenty of power at my foot then the next morning it feels like a big slug. there has been no additional weight in the car and the weather conditions are the same?????? notsure.gif

Hmm, some days my car feels very quick and some days it feels slower. It's never got to the stage where I think it's too slow though notsure.gif . It may just need a service, plugs and leads. Try a different kind of fuel in your car like Optimax and see how that goes :wink:

well had the sevice done last sat and fitten some ngk platinum spark plugs today, seems to feel ood at the mo

Good, just keep an eye on ther power over the next few days and see if you loose it again. If so try a different kind of fuel 🙂

my 2.2 also feels like this, but mine is because my rear-calipers are sticking! do you own an Astra? if so, you might have the dreaded bosch rear calipers which seize up :cry:

When I bought my 2.2 the owner said the rear was sticking on mine notsure.gif , I just never bothered with it :? . How can I tell what kind mine are?

Bosch Rear Calipers

Stick your head under the back of your car and take a look mate, the bosch calipers on mine had it ingraved visibly across the caliper.

My 2.2 also has the lag feeling every once in a while, so now i use aircraft fuel to clear the injectors and get me going in the morning.. the perfeormance increase is about 800% its brilliant. You put your foot down and feel like you're flying rallygif

okay okay thats a lie, but the bosch part is the truth, just take a look mate, but i advise you to not look while you are parked on a hill as you might have a major neck and head ache if your car rolls over your head. munchies..

Mine is sometimes sluggish too. I just put it down to the fact it is like me some mornings. 😃
