Do you need your timing chain replaced? Get it done cheaper by Benny our friendly mechanic. Benny has replaced a few members chains on here with happy results. He will be alot cheaper than Vauxhall and most garages! He is a good mechanic and knows his stuff.

Parts Needed:
Timing chain kit (12577385)
A crank pulley bolt and a timing chain cover/oil pump gasket
New oil ands filter recommended at the same time.
Benny to fit all the above

As expected despite the milled nut and blue spot the small oil nozzle was in place.

Take it from me anyone with a 2.2 reg'd from 2000 / 2002 get your chain sorted a.s.a you can .

I was lucky according to Benny mine was on the brink ............

Mines a 2001 & I was told by Vx mine was not affected & also vx garage told me they could hear nowt wrong with the motor when it was runing & it also had the crappy style oil jet .

So you have been warned guys & gals ....

Not sure mate. Either Benny or Daz. I would like to start to learn fitting the chains, but I don't have a clue yet. I do tend to learn this for when I get my new 2.2 :razz:

hello this is one of my first replys on this thread ....as of now i am giveing people the price of both chains £*** all in this is for both chain kits and a oil and filter ..after the report in total vauxhall more and more people are now asking for the 2 kit (the balance shaft kit normally is ok) so the original price for the single kit remains for thos of you not worried many thank benny

no some people are asking for the price ....the other kit is not affected at all by the recall and doesnt fail as often if at all, just putting the price up if people are interested ..(dont panic the balance shaft kits hardly ever fail) !"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Was in need of a change after all.. I would recommend if anyone isnt sure wheither it has been changed to do it!!!

What a relief it was driving home without listening out for a random noise comming from the engine lol..

Many thanks to a top bloke Benny who did mine yesterday at short notice plus the Tech 2.
Benny did show me the two blue recall markings done after Aug 2001 when made, but for reference the registration date 27 March 2002. Yep had the restricted oil jet.
Car has never run so good even when i first had it at 3777 miles.

The main man did say he was expecting another this morning- Turns out its yours mr 56k.

Yep lol... That was me mate.. He did a great job!! Mine also had the yellow markings on it :?
