vecy c pipe on an astra

so has any one actual fitted one or was it just a piss take to waist some cash and if so do you have a pic of the pipe installed i mean what a f@#k about done a mint job of the air box but that shity pipe is a waits of time all crumpled up and pushing the coolant pipe on the alternator read the how to it says bout a hour :shock: i started it at 5pm its now 11pm and its still not done think there has been to many t breaks lol

As far as I know there are a couple of people on here with Astra's who have done the Vec C pipe. I know for definate that Ffoeg has added the Veccy C pipe

Matts right Ffoeg has one fitted and then he modified it and made it even bigger. I have heard it is really really tight in the 2.2. I have heard people losening the rad and bumper etc. sounds like to much hassle to me thats why i have left it.

i did my astra just before christmas and must admit was a pig of a job the pipe kept slipping of the airbox so i held it on with a jubilee clip and the other end of that pipe was really hard work got there in the end tho with a bit of swearing must say was hopeing it had of been a slightly better fit but saying that i think it has made a slight improvement

having lost skin off knuckles ect ect.. i personally wouldnt bother on the astra, the hassle/performance increase doesnt add up

got mine done in my coupe, well a mate who is a vauxhall mechanic done it with a strugle and took bout half an hour of messing around, came clse to dropping the bumper but got there in the end....

I put the conecting pipe between the box and the scoop on upside down, It fits perfectly then! :-D bugger of a job to fit the damn thing though!

My mate help me fit mine, he found it quite easy he said. He used a guide from another forum (Sorry z22se). He cut the two brackets off of the pipe and twisted the adaptor between the box and the pipe so that the guide does'nt meet but the adaptor fits snugly. May have sum pics if it helps?
I think it helped my astra as we de-restricted the air box while we were in there and I like the subtle sound difference

subtle sound mine roars now and if you got a pic that would help plus i had to put the adapter pipe on the wrong way to get it to fit plus i have reused the bracket of the old pipe and zip tied the new one two it .mine must roars because of the way i modded the box no silly plastic back in the hole glassed it up i put some pics in the how 2 section

i know i couldnt get the old scoop out for ages in the end i cut it up in place and abused it out LOL, i cable tied my pipe to air box i just dont like how it touches the coolant pipe but sounds good now at certain revs

We did this over a year ago before a rolling road with the VxSCC that was in Total Vaux mag, so I can't remember everything sorry

We cut off the small brackets and filed down what was left on the vectra c pipe

We removed the pipe circled from the air box and used the screws circled also to hold the pipe in place and put the adapter pipe on the wrong way to get it to fit right with no gaps

Sorry I can't remember where we got the two screws from dunno..
Sure we removed them from sumwhere at sum point.
