Think you're right I think it is the CR600 or something like that, which is a tape player with 6 Disc changer. I looked at the option myself.
You can get a multi changer that works off a radio frequency so in theory could run a multi changer with your CDR500, just have one radio channel tuned into the cd changer. The changer comes with it's own remote as well.
Can't remember makes or models though, a friend of mine had one and it worked well.
