205/50/R16

How much should I be looking at paying for a half decent set of 205/50/R16 tyres for my standard VX alloys?

Going to need to replace all 4 this summer, and don't fancy spending much more than £200.

I got some thru work for the mrs car...and paid £30 each,they were maxxis tyres,think they retail at about £50

depending really as I have found in the past 16" wheels in genral cost more than other sizes to replace. Kumho aint a bad cheep tyre. try www.topgear.co.uk for tyres or ebay

I've just been outside and they are actually 205/50/R16 and I've currently got Michelin Pilot Primacy, which I've found online for £105 each!

I paid £145 for the same tyre before.

A set of 4 for £200 you going to be looking at a cheep cheep budget set.

If you can spend more do so as tyres rnt a thing to skrimp on un less the cheep tyre aint bad in the first place

I take it that they are quite a good tyre then? I've had the car 2.5 years, and they were on it when I got it. I think thats what I'm going to have to do. I might be getting rid of the car in September anyway, so depending on what I'm doing, I'll have to budget quite a bit more.

Well, I'm keeping the car, so I've got to get some new tyres. I'm going to get some this morning, as the tread is VERY low on all 4 of the tyres. Not looking forward to this 🙁

I've just booked myself in to have some fitted this afternoon. Costing me £320 for all 4 including fitting for some Falcon

I love new tyres, just hate paying for them :lol:

the front tyres on my vx220 are unique to the lotus elise + vx220, so £115 EACH :shock:

The ones which I have on at the minute Neil are the original ones from the factory, so they are nearly 5 years old, and have done nearly 70,000 miles.

Neil have you had a look on my tyers i have seen the rear ones for £97 i think.
70K is fantastic. Matt are you sure they are 205 / 50 /16 as i mytyers is showing up that they dont exisit

Yes they are that size standard, im after some tyres too, if you go on mytyres.co.uk you put the size in then the next screen you click on " show all tyres " and they are there, plenty to choose from.

You can buy these tyres - Falken ZE-512 205/50 R16 87V Rim-protection for £49.70 each incl del, then might cost you a tenner (no reciept) to get someone to fit em, (i normally go to the kwikfit near me as they are pretty good like that)..

Just showing the saving you could have.

that's what I bought for my gsi series 1 wheels, not a bad tyre 🙂
they were 215/45/17 and only £55 off the internet and £10 each fitted + balanced

So they are reccomended then 🙂 ... Hummmm might order these myself now as im in need of 2 (but might aswell get 4 and do the backs as they are still the originals).....

i have used those falken tyres and they weren't as good as i was told they'd be. I have also used falken FK-451, was impressed with it too.
