Computer onto the tv screen?

At work they have the pc set up to come on the big tv notsure.gif . How can it be done? I would like to do it with mine :razz:

On my TV at home, there is a PC input on the back. All you need to do is plug the PC in the same as you would into a monitor, and away you go.

Can I buy some sort of lead for mine. I don't think mine has a pc port on the rear of my tv

If you PC has S-Video, then your TV may also have this connection. You can bodge an S-Video connection and convert it into one of the connections which has the Yellow adapter fitted (can't remember the name though)

I've got a phono connection on the back of my PC and I just use the Yellow AV cable (RCA cable) to plug to the inputs on the telly.

Thats the one John, my mate did this as well to so he could have his laptop on the TV.

I have tried from the tv card vid out to the vid on my tv connection (yellow) but nothing came on. I then tried the yellow socket on my tv to the s video connection on my graphics card but nothing

Is there a special setting on your video card Mark to make it put a signal trough the video out connection? On my laptop, I have to specify for the card to send a signal through the output to the TV.

It's a packard bell pci tv card pb-tv100

hmm, not sure on that one mate, if there any software which came with it which lets you change the settings?

I have just remembered. My tv card has a normal house ariel socket on the back for standard tv. I also have a video socket (yellow) on the same card. S-video also and some smaller sockets, audio and stuff. I plug my camera into the yellow plug on my tv card and my security camera comes on the pc no problem so it must be working. Can I not run it from my graphics card as I have an s video out lead converting to a yellow plug lead.

The S-Video to Yellow should work fine Mark, give it a whirl and see what happens.

From my graphics card or tv card? Also I am using a lead with and red and white plug in lead, but only putting the red lead in the yellow plug tv and pc side. Cheers

Plug the S-Video into the PC, and the yellow connector into the TV. The red and white are for the left and right sound channel, and there is no sound passed across s-video anyway.

I had a similar issue when running my PC through my TV, the software inc with the card was not good enough to push the image across to the TV i managed to get mine running using this util

There is prob better tools out there now but this one worked for me a few years ago.
