Astra v Vectra

I've been wondering. Are there more cases of broken chains on the Astra or Vectra. The reason behind my thought is that the Astra has electronic power steering and the Vectra has a power steering pump driven by the inlet cam.

Does the pump put more stress on the chain??

What do you think?

I am not sure either. I know the Vectra has a different ecu from the Astra as I tried one on my Astra and it would not work....

Electric as far as I know.....

If its electric then why does mine have a power steering fluid container? My Corsa was electric and that had no power sterring fluid notsure.gif

I know when i swithed from the Corsa to the Astra the steering felt so heavy. Could turn th corsa with one finger lol

U'll fine ure power steerinf resovoir at the bk of the engine,which in turn is sat on top of the electric pump...

The Astra has an electro-hydraulic pump... the pump is electrically driven from the battery/alternator.
