AVG Anti-virus

I have now found out what might be causing the problem i had...... AVG anti-virus, it seems to scan at 2 seconds past midnight each night even thought i have it set to run at 8pm notsure.gif In windows task manager there is no AVG running in the aplications but on the process tab under CPU it uses around 09 - 50 so it must be what i was talking about in my thread. I think the time on AVG is well out but every time a click on AVG it shows the date and 15:33 in the far bottom right. I cant find any option to edit the time notsure or even how many times a week i want it to scan.gif

Andy, if you open up AVG, from the top menu, select Services, and then in the middle there should be an Event History Log. This will tell you at what times it has updated itself, scanned your PC etc. Can you have a look in there, and let us know what you are seeing?

Ive printed a screen matt so you can see the difference in time displayed!

hmm, thats a strange one Andy, I'll have a look at mine in the morning, and see if I can see anything which sets the time for AVG, or find out where it gets it's clock settings from. Only thing I can think of at the minute is the system time on your PC is out.

Can you do a screen shot of the date/time settings on the PC?

Where are the settings for the system time? On the desk top in the bottom right it displays the correct time and date when i move the cursor over it!

You need to go into Control Panel, and there sould be some Regional/Date/Time settings in there.

Only just got round to looking at this Andy, there is defo something a bit screwey with AVG:

The date and time on my AVG is way out.
Time now: 20.01.07 09:22
Time on AVG: 19.01.07 16:46

Yeah i know :lol: AVG will auto scan when i start my PC up then it will scan at midnight now mater what time i put on the scheduler notsure.gif

i installed AVG a couple of months back but ditched it within a couple of days as i didn't like it at all.

now using Trend Micro PC-cilin 2007.
