For met black, This method works really well if you want to mask the swirls (alot of detailers dont like it) but it does the job if you can not de-swirl by machine. I do this with my paint working during winter when i can not de-swirl and want to make my paint work look fresh.
Wash with a good Mitt / new schmitt
Polish - turtle Wax colour magic apply with megs applicator pad and buff with a good micro fiber cloth this will mask swirls and make the flake pop out.
You have a few options now but this time of year i would would just top with a good wax ( poorboys nattys blue this is really good on dark paint)
