Speaker upgrade

I want to upgrade my door speakers next but not sure which componant set to go for any recomendations?.

I put Alpine type S in the rear quarters in my Coupe, left the fronts as standard and thew a sub in the boot. I would say Alpine is the way to go!

yes mate i had to, could not see any other way also i had to install my TV tuner and reverse sensor speaker as you can see the right pic

yes i got it running through an alpine mra-d550 Dolby digital 5 ch amp 65w rms >>> http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/produc ... /2857.html <<< runs thru the dvd screen . 😃

ive got a set of infinity 6x9's n a spare amp,
so back shelf gettin hacked n them fitted, :roll:
so if dont look good, will pick up another shelf.
Altho the standard speakers i think are good, but im also after
some customs as i have a feeling i will pop them 😃

I've never been a big fan of 6x9's. You can't beat a decent set of 2 way components amped up.

i was going to say that 6x9s are waist of time and very inefficient like u said a good set of 6" coax will do me 😃

im not really up on whats wot, have a decent headunit (got a piranha swimming in it, LOL)
and a vibe sub with amp attatched.
Sounds alright.

Dont know how to use me headunit properly apart from the basics :oops:

so i may take your advice and go for the little things.

well imo after hereing a set of 6x9 in a mates asrta i did not like because all the sound was in the back were as now i have the coupe and after setting fire to the origanl speakers with a to powerful amp lol i just replaced the speakers with alpines (big alpine fan lol) and now i have an even sound from front and rear and a good clean sound heres what i have as you can see its alll alpine

Full Alpine Multimedia Setup:

Alpine iva-d900r 7"DVD player +screen - Alpine 16gb mp3 hard-drive player - Alpine S type comps front, alpine S type coax rear, amp controller in ashtray - 2 x Alpine mrd 1001 amps - Alpine mrad-550 Dolby digital surround-sound amp - 4 x Alpine X type 12" subs in custom fiber Glass body colored boot build duel battery setup with 0 gauge power wire .....tested at 140db......

Yeah, the best option is to go for a good set of speakers amped up in the front, as that is where you sit, and the sound stage is in the front. Rear speakers are only really use as "fill" to complete the sound, and the bass comes from the sub in the boot. Thats the way I've se up my previous 2 cars, the Astra has remained pretty much standard ICE wise.

Do you need an adaptor to change the front speakers in the coupe doors? No one can give me a straight answer notsure.gif
