ANDYSESTATE this funkin flat spot. After i change gear and floor it............nothing. dunno.. Takes about two seconds before i get any power. My car is a bog standard 2.2 with only 55k on it. Have cleaned the Throttle body as it was full of 5hite but still no differance. Please................
JohnnyN Quick and simple. Panel filter, mod the airbox, remove the pre-cat and a remap. If you do all the other stuff yourself you'd be looking at around £35 for a K&N Panel filter and around £299 for the remap. It really depends on how much money you want to spend?
ANDYSESTATE If i do these things do i need to get a remap, or will these things improve the flat spot on there own.............
vocky you don't need a remap, but it will remove most of the remaining flat spot the precat causes 70% of the flat spot I never bothered with a remap on my vec 2.2 and it ran fine
ANDYSESTATE Its driving me round the bend.. I had a GSI before this 2.2 and that had it also it, but not as bad.
ANDYSESTATE Right then, pre cat it is then, I'll have to wait untill the weather sorts itself out a bit though...
pjevo Does removing the precat still allow the car to pass emissions at MOT time? I had a 320bhp turbocharged Elise which would fry a cat (flames 2meters out the back) so it had to be removed. Put it back on only at MOT time - which was a real pain!
