issue fixing power sounder

I have had a problem with my power sounder and rather then replacing the unit as funds are short this time of year i thought i would get it fixed.

I bought the batteries from cell pack solutions (not many left) and very good service.

I opened the power sounder to find the completly different batteries looking at me the ones on the power sounder have 4 prongs and the ones i have bought just have three?

The new batteries

has any one fixed one of these before if so have i bought the wrong ones or is there away of getting round it?

any advice welcome.

Definately looks like the wrong ones to me. They are way different. Send the supplier a pic like the one above and they may be able to help you out a bit more. Failing that, have you got a Maplins electronic store locally? If so, take the unit in to them and see if they can match the batteries up.

Talked to the supplier and he rekons these will fit.

Just to let you know the above batteries are the same as the one in the power sounder. Old ones removed and new ones installed, needed a bit of steady hand but got there in the end. power sounder now re-sealed and ready to fit! if it works i saved £42! ( all counts this time of year)

How has your alarm been since refitting the power sounder mate?

I have the same problem but at the moment i'm just locking the drivers door from the passengers side to avoid getting it looked at.

When you remove the power sounder is the car still usable? Can you still lock/alarm you car?

Finally how hard was it fitting those batteries? I take it was a solder jobby?

Loads of questions but it saves posting loads 🙂

no worries with all the q's.

I have not re-fitted mine yet due to the weather.

The car still locks and works fine without the power sounder attached to the car.

I believe if your car gets broken into then the horn and hazards still flash (i am not 100% sure about this)

I had to re-solder the new batteries on the board which was a bit fiddly but with a steady hand and a small tipped soldering iron you should be fine.

I then re-sealed the unit with some gaffer tape.

If you want any more advice just give me a shout.

Wow it was a while since I did it, I think I scored around the join and gently opened it with a screwdriver.
