Yes but that is the maximum kerb weight and not necessarily the weight of your car.... 😃
I've just had a look out side and my plate inside the door says 1675kg -but it been weighed in at 1238kg a mate of mine is here with a 5 door Astra and his plate says 1670kg so none of them make any sense....

are u sure ur not confusing hatchback time with the coupe time? cuz a coupe is bigger, longer and a bit heavier then the hatchback.

as far as i know over here it really is 8.8, by personal experience, as stated by Opel and also by every review and technical data on the internet. dunno..
