pre cat removal noise

After having the pre cat removed at courtneys ive noticed theres a gurgling noise or like a small backfire when i accelarate had and release the accelarator. Anyone got same sound as me or is that an indication that something is wrong. Its from the area that the cat or pre cat is not the back box.

Yes they all do this after the Pre Cat is removed, makes it sound more rally style :lol: :wink: . Mine makes the same noise now. Did you notice any difference when this was removed?

yeah noticed straight away there was a gurgling sound when accelarate. Well atleast i know for sure its not just me and it should be pretty safe 🙂 roll on the rally sound lol rallygif

Not bad at all mate. I wish I had my phone to record the new noise. It's a fun sort of a noise :lol: , It pops when I am changing into another gear at high revs and if you leave go of the throttle it sounds like back fires but in a good way, proper rally sort of noises :wink: rallygif

No, just when you put your foot down or while traveling at speed and you let off the throttle 🙂

It's spot on mate, I can't remember if you have a cat back system now notsure.gif . But it will sound nearly the same as it did with your system normal (if you have a cat back system :wink: )

from what i remembered it cost about 70 quid not cheap but had the car there anyway doing my other mods pretty happy with the sound. Just wondering if i should get a 200 cell cat to let the exhaust out more freely.
If ppl are thinking of getting the precat removed i recommend it. Thanks to this forum i read about this and got it done. Good little mod to do.

Lads I do a lot of motorway driving did you see any difference in MPG? Will affect the MOT emissions?

will not effect mot as the engine should be warm when a mot is done and the main cat will sort that out anyway 😃

not sure on mpg as i have not done mine yet 😃
