Just back from chipped uk

Well i must say im very impressed!

I set out at 9 this morning to see jason at bromsgrove, a nice steady 60-70 saw me arrive at 11.20, upon arrival the car was straight on the rollers and he set about his work.(I was highly delighted that i didnt have to wait about)
The 1st run came up with 142.5bhp(cant remember torque). Then after some jiggery pokery it resulted in over a 10bhp increase.(the results are here).
Jason said that while i wouldnt notice much on top end, the flat spots would go and have better acceleration through the rev range, And by jiminey he was right!!!! He also said the car was capable of a little more and felt the sparkplugs where to blame, i was using Bosche but he said use vx ones.
All in all a very good experience and Jason and Simon come highly recomended!

it's the 'guesstimate' of the flywheel power

a honest remap, so be happy 🙂

Pleased for you mate, Jason got a 10 BHP and 10 lbs/ft of torque incread on mine too cheers..

i may have to go and visit these guys soon. mine feels a bit soft so a good kick up the rear end should liven things up

Glad your happy with the remap, the ploted graph looks good with a nice torque curve, but I noticed the trigger speed was 3000rpm, the 2.2 has a huge torqe dip between about 2500 rpm and 3500 rpm and as the graph dosent really portrait the results I was hoping you could coment on how it now feels? does it still seem to sudenly pick up at around 3250 rpm, or is the pull constant right through?

There is a still a small flat spot low down but its nowhere near as bad as before,i dont really drive it hard and often accelerate from low down the rev range so its 1 of the 1st things i was impressed with. Also when it goes beyond the 2.5-3k range it goes like hell. I went out with jason in it after he did it and he certanly made the car shift!! He drove it a lot more aggresivly than i do. Needless to say i drove like a hooligan all the way home. I just want to also add that the car does feel more responsive, it feels like every bit of power is waiting for you to use it, whereas before it was a bit laboured if you know wot i mean.

Thanks buddy, Thats what I was intrested in, Im a lazy sod and dont change out of fourth much so I always feel that flat spot like you, so its good to know it cleans it up a little.

did this improve 0-60 time? and i mean have u tested it?

No sorry ive not tested it but to be honest i didnt test it before so i have no idea. The engine is smoother and more responsive throughout the range, and after about 3 weeks my fuel consumption dropped considerably, on motorway at a constant 70, 40mpg can easily be achived. Im going to Ireland in a few weeks so im on a mission to get some record breaking mpg, and miles to the tank figures :wink:
