my next door neighbour has just bought an Focus RS and he recons it will piss all over an coupe turbo both on aceleration and at 100+. is he right?

Oh and btw they look like 1.6 with cheap alloys and the interior is dull as dishwater.

Fords look nice but are built like a wet piece of sh1t. Basically they fall apart!

Also, you always tend to find that the Fords are a bit more lively than Vauxhalls when they come straight out the box. That is until the VXR range was introduced. I would imagine that the Ford is lighter than the Astra. I used to get really p1ssed when a mate of mine had an MG 1.8 VVT 160. It was 400cc less than mine yet it produced 160 BHP and went like frikken billiyo!! It was nearly 400 KG lighter than my car which makes all the difference.

Stinky, Unfortunatly i think your net door friend is right the focus would have a coupe i doubt it would pi55 all over it though and a good remap with a few more mods you could wave bye bye to the RS.

if both cars are standard the focus would beat the A.C.T. but an astra vxr would beat the focus

Ask him for a race on a slippery track- the troque steer on the Focus RS will pull him all over the road! The handling under hard acceleration is scary!

does everyone have rose tinted glasses on today, vauxhall builds decent cars but ford builds hot hatches better, can anyone remember the STIG in the rs on top gear i didnt see him going round in an astra coupe they arent in the same class.

im not anti vauxhall 3 out 6 of my cars have been vauxhalls i just think people get a bit biased towards the make of car they own , and dont see appreciate other cars

Spking from an mot tester point of view...

Astra's of the same year as focus's seem to be in alot better condition ,both mechanicly and corrosion wise...

im biased towards bmws i had 2 before i got married and bought a house and had kids. thats why vectras on the drive cheap family car but still with a bit of go in it

been jap twice, then 2x audi S2's but come back to vx and now have
me veccy & the meega on the drive.
Reliability/running costs a lot less (especially with points)
altho i do miss the turbo boost :cry:

Unfortunetly I have to agree with every1 else the focus is a faster car and if he can drive it properly very fast round corners i'm afraid that it would have a coupe turbo. unless the coupe had a Quaife ATB LSD fitted and some good tyres and suspension set up then that would make things more interesting.

A standard for focus is a excellent handling car, and the rs is brilliant, the astra aint in the rs class. But again the cars were aimed at a different market. Vauxhal threw the gsi together to compete and grab some of the market but the rs is a better car.

Would still buy a vauxhall though, as I prefer them over other brands, they are usally a nicer drive
