Car alarm help!

Hope you can help.

I have had a couple of issues with my car alarm.
Since my remap it has gone off a couple of times but its not like the proper alarm is going off just a lower DB alarm and no flashing hazards.

It does not stop if i lock or de-lock the doors. It goes off for around 5 mins's but nothing you do changes the status of it.

I dont think it is anything to do with my remap but can any one shed any light on this.

P.S when the proper alarm does go off as it has while trying to disarm this smaller sounding alarm the hazards flashed etc.

I dont know if this is related but some times when i deadlock the car from the key fob the hazards dont always flas does this indicate a low battery key fob or actual low car battery.

Hope some one can help.

How is the condition of your battery on the car and how old is it??

The car battery looks ok, i have never had it changed though since i have had it which is 2 1/2 years. It could still be the origanal one. it's 2003 model.

Do they have multiple alarms on these cars?

(does this fault sound like the power sounder fault other users have had?)

I think you may need a new power sounder mate. They tend to go wrong alot. I have had them play up on my cars a few times. If it's being a pain just disconnet it and order a new one. It's easy enough. You will still have the other alarm as back up.

I think it's about £40 from Vauxhall. It's in the passenger side front wheel arch cover. It's right next to the indicator on your wing. Remove a few bungs to get access, you then pull the wheel arch cover back. You should then see the siren. You pull it towards you as it sits on runners and unplug it 🙂. I am sure it removes just like that. It's been a while since I took one off, but it does come off very easy.

Thanks for all your help, managed to order x2 batterys for it and will have a go at doing a DIY fix.

Cool, I did not know they took batterys lol. Does the box open up. I have never gone that far before. I Just removed one.

Mark i read it on hear a couple of posts down \/ that you can change the batterys. On AS they have a small how to, so i ordered x2 batterys for £12! thought it was worth ago. apprently it is sealed but you can split it and then just re-seal it. If i get it to work i may do a little how to.
