guys does anyone have a difinatine list of parts for putting a z20let into a 2.2vec.

looking at maybe doing this in the new year, just got to cost it all out notsure.gif

lol....there the men tho....think the z20 into a 1.8/2.0 is pretty straight forward as the engine mtgs are the same but there in a diff place on the 2.2..

major items you will need:
2.0 16v F23 box
2.0 16v engine mounts
new downpipe section

make sure you don't buy a z2.0 'lel' or 'ler', as the immobiliser is a nightmare
get an early z2.0let or a vxT engine

how about a c20let ? that same

in TV someone had a c20let in a vectra b and was pushing out 280bhp

c20let can reach a higher power output then a z20let, is cheaper to buy as well as in parts prices + its stronger cuz the components are more durable so can handle more power. vmax in germany can tune a c20let to about 750hp and a z20let to about 550

BUT the c20let has a bigger turbo hole and will not rev from 2000rpm as a z20let would and its power band will not be as wide. Also its not an ecotech engine so it will be a bit more thirsty ^^

So a z20let drives nicer/better but is more xpensive

(vmax asks 1600 euro to tune a c20let to 310 hp VS 5749 euro to tune a z20let to 310 hp)

but if ur not planning to go above 300hp i would def recommend the z20let. If ur tight on cash but still want turbo power then go for c20let.

btw both are excellent engines :razz:

Mr Livi we meet again!

As vocky said the biggest problem i found was finding the right F23 gearbox, You need a F23 from a 2.0 Vectra, and these were only produced for just over a year, Each F23 has a 2 letter code on it. and there is 2 possible gearboxs that will fit, and it is either SS or SR code, basicly the SS is the short ratio box and SR the longer ratio.

Jim has the SS and i have the SR. And you will need the X20 XEV engine mounts aswell as the Z20LET mounts too, Make sure if you buy the engine you give me a call and i will try and come along with you to collect it and make sure it comes with everything you need. Mine never came with the loom from ECU - Bulkhead, the breakers had to buy me a brand new one from vauxhall which cost them £500! So it can be costly if you dont get everything

Of the top of my head make sure your conversion kit comes with the following:
. Engine! 😃
. F23 Box (SS or SR)
. Engine Loom
. Internal Loom
. ECU
. Car Key(transponder)
. Z20LET F23 driveshafts
. X20XEV mounts
. Z20LET mounts
. X20 XEV Powersteering pump
. Z20LET Aircon comp
. Z20LET alternator
. All Boost pipes
. Intercooler
. Airbox
. Overpipe
. Maf/Map sensors
. Pre cat pipe

And you will need to go to a custom exhaust place to get your downpipe/flexi/cat and lambda boss made up to fit the vectra.

I do have a full list knocking around somewhere mate, Like i say if ur seriously wanting to do it, give me a shout and i will help you source everything you need and you can take my motor for a spin.

Still think your better selling your vec and getting an astra with a LET motor already installed, cause its a lot of money and effort to throw it into a fully working vectra.

Very good point, you will have a nightmare like pengoo if you get a Z20 LEL.

C20 LET just doesnt look right under the bonnet of a vectra, plus its not much more tunable than the Z20 anymore, lots of Z20's running upto 360bhp nowadays.

Pengoo needs to buy a standalone ecu like an Emerald or Megasquirt :roll:

Jims Z20LET is running a DTA system now, and he has offered to do it for pengoo aswell. But for some reason pengoo is in talks with regal to try and fit a Z20LET loom and ECU to his Z20LEL.

I thought my car was pretty nippy, but went out in Jims the other day, and he has turned that into an animal!
