Had Benny change my cam chain saturday after being told by the dealer that mine werent in affected range.

here is what benny found !!!!

And the jet was the old style one that should of been recalled so to fellow 2.2 owners, dont believe a word vauxhall tell you when they say that your vechicle isnt in affected range.

cant recommend benny highly enough, hes a top bloke and has saved me a lot of expense and more important has saved me from the wife nagging at me because she wouldnt of had a car!!!

engine had done 75000 full vauxhall service history

one of the bolts had come away and was just there wedged inside as well. the car had been twice into vauxhall this year first time was last feb when i first heard the noise and again 2 weeks ago. both times they said they couldnt hear the noise (typically disappears when you take it to be looked at) and without stripping it down they cant tell but wanted to charge in access of £400 just to strip down and investigate.

im just so glad that i went with my gut reaction and decided to get it done.

to say how shocked i was when benny revealed all will be an understatement.

thank god new chain went in and everything now ok.

I'm havin mine done in January, I may be just paranoid but i'm sure i can hear a noise. I was starting to wonder if it will be a waste of time, but not now! out of intrest what engine number is yours?? It might be as well to build our own database seing as vauxhalls is inacurate.

its a zafira registered may2001 with an engine number of TA055317

i had rang vauxhall customer services 3 times about whether it needed a recall and was rest assured that mine werent in the affected list

They always seem to say that...think tbh honest if anyone buys a 2.2 get the chain done asap to stop any probs or worry...

engines below 65400 were affected, so 55317 certainly could be 🙁
