I fitted my new pannel filter on Saturday on removal of the top lid i found the old filter not seated correctly. i removed this to find it was filthy and in the bottom of the box was leaves muck, wasps! i removed the bottom half to find it was completely snapped! Right down the centre of the box.
No wonder i had a funny rattle noise!
Drove all over to replace it but could not get one ended up fixing it!
Which will do until i find a replacement.
de-ristricting it, could not get the pipe that holds the clothg pipe on out so pulled the staples out and gave it a good tug and i managed not to damage the plastic and get the cloth pipe off. took about 40 mins of pulling and twisting.
Installed the new filter and re-fitted the box. No rattles now 😛
Car felt a bit lumpy on start up but did not rev as high as it used to.
Took it for a test drive could not really tell a big difference but it did feel a bit smoother.
