Well the time has come for the rolling Road day in the North East to take place. I will defo be going and I hope some of you lot can make it  . This event has been started with Astra Sport and the more people who go the better and cheaper it is  . Thanks to Richie from Astra Sport for sorting the dates out 🙂
Back by popular demand! We are once again holding a Rolling Road day at I&J McDonald's in Lanchester, Co. Durham. It will cost at least £35 per car per run with the possibility of discount if we arrive in sufficient numbers. Its a good day out with a chance to see exactly how well your car is performing. I&J are tuners of Morgans and Lagonda vintage cars, their facilities are of a high quality and you will be given a print out of your graph/results. You will also have the added entertainment of watching kev put his car through twice to see what gains he is achieving with NOS, and no doubt heds will be turning up in something exotic depending on what car hes chosen on the day!
The date we are providing is provisional in the aim to suit as many people interested as possible so please speak up asap if the dates aren't suitable so we can move things around. However we may be limited depending on the availability of the Rolling Road, kev will discuss this over the phone on Monday with I&J.
Rolling Road
Our sun Rolling Road is current state-of-the-art equipment which can give very accurate readings of speed, torque, horsepower and transmission loss.
How does it work?
The car is run through the useable rev range at full throttle and the machine prints out a chart of torque and brake horsepower. Subsequent changes to such things as ignition timing, exhaust system, camshaft etc. can be re-tested and compared with the original readings on the same graph. To keep the engine cool we have an industrial cooling fan that is placed in front of the car and acts as the "cooling wind" you would expect to find when driving.
Other benifits.
Speed readings can be used to check speedometers also power loss figures for comparison of transmission changes. All readings are automatically corrected for temperature and atmospheric pressure.
