a few quick questions regarding limp mode on vectra 2.2

i ve got a 2.2 vectra here that i was changing the cylinder head due to timing chain snapping.

Got it done, runs great. ran it for about 2 days, and drives super.

I changed the oil and filters etc,etc. and it still ran great.

I noticed the battery wasn't the great'est, so, i replaced it. but

now the car is in limp mode, with 2 lights on the dash, the engine management light and the TC light.

whats wrong ? what have i done ?
i put the old battery back in, and its still the same.

Can i do the PAPER CLIP TEST on the 2.2? if so, where is the obd2 socket located?

any help guys appreciated.

I have also left the battery off for 2 full days to see if that would clear the fault, but no joy.

changing the battery should not of affected the ecu notsure.gif

the paperclip test does not work on a z22se, only Tech2

as it's limp mode, you should not really drive it too far 🙁

By leaving the battery off it will not clear a 'present fault'. You can only clear the management light by leaving the battery off if the fault is no longer present. You must get it connected to Tech 2.

The OBD2 socket on the Vectra B is located under the coin tray behind the gearstick.

some say, 2001 onwards but my car is 2000 x reg vectra.

Thats the one mate. I'm sure it will fit yours too but phone them on Monday to make sure. They do next day delivery too.
