DBcoup lookin at an ali gear knob on lmf was just wonderin are the standard ones easy to get off? Do they just unscrew? Coz im a bit heavy handed and dont wanna break anythin :roll:
Daz The older vx ones used to be a pain to get off ,,,ususally end up cutting them of...not sure with the newer one tho...somebody will no doubt be along and tellu tho..
Paul_brown Just ordered 1 off lmf, think i'll be hoying it in the drawer if there as bad as that to do.
Matt Definition of Universal Fit: It will fit, but you'll end up using a hacksaw, loosing a few pint of blood, sweat and tears, and it still won't look quite right in the end. (or thats been my experiance!)
JohnnyN Fiiting a new gearknob to a Vectra is a right bast!! It is a hacksaw job 100%. When you eventually get the actual rubber knob off, there is a big lump of aluminium to remove. This HAS to be cut off with a hacksaw. You WILL cut yourself and there WILL be lots of swarf in your gaitors and you MIGHT slip and cut the interior trim. Its not for the faint hearted but please don't let me put you off!! :roll: rofl.. :roll:
