Im just in the middle of servicing my coupe, just started p!ss!ng down :roll: Whats the best way to drop the coolant?

There is a tap on the radiator on the drivers side and a 13mm bolt on the water pump as explained by daz. Hope this helps andy.

Yeah i found it in the end! Any idea how much the coolant system holds? I bout 2 litres of red from vxl.

I did mine yesterday. I swore my balls off whilst doing it. The system hold 7 litres if you got air-con and 6.5 litres without. I managed to get myself an air-lock too! That was scary!!

I used 3 litres of coolant to my 4 litres of water if you know what I mean.

Hmm, i drained mine from the plug at the bottom of the radiator, on filling back up it usd the 2 litres of red antifreeze that i bought and then a ferther 1 litre of water which brought it upto the kault line. Drove round for a few miles and it hasn`t budged.

Have you checked that you've got hot air coming out of your heater vents? My car went bonkers. The temp gauge went upto 100'C and the fan kept getting faster and faster. I switched it off and the fan kept going for about 3/5 minutes with no key in the ignition!! :shock:

I topped the tank up a bit and went for a drive down the street. The coolant check light came on, so I returned home to find that all the coolant in the tank was gone. I put a further 2 litres of coolant in to get the level back up. Its all okay now.

Temp never went above 90 oC. Will check the vents tmoz! Do you think i got all the old coolat out of the system? Once it had stoped running from the tap i poured clean water through just to clean it out a little!

did you take the plug out of the waterpump hosuing...if ya didnt all the old coolant is still in the engine ...all u drained was the rad..

Dont think theres one on ours john....not sure tho as never drained mine....lol..

oops! Yeah just drained the radiator then! Will prob do the lot next year.

Just thought, how much would i have upset the ratio of antifreeze and water as i drained the radiator and then added 2L of red anti freeze and approx 1.5L of water!
