I use these as well, basically anything with RiTek dye on and you can't go wrong. I get all my stuff from www.ukdvdr.co.uk as they do next day delivery.
As already said, if you can, burn as SLOW as possible. I burn at 2 speed, as I'm in no rush, and I can no errors on the discs.
As for DVD-r or DVD+r, the only difference normally is price, but you need to look at what sort of media your player/writer supports. If it supports both, go for DVD-r, as they are cheaper.
I can around 100 DVD-r's every 2 month from ukdvdr, and only have about 4 coasters from the pack. I also use the Datawrite Titanium for ones which I don't want to print on.
