Spring Adjusters. They really work!!!

I recently fitted new 17" alloys that have an offset of 40 and 215/45 tyres. I should have had 40 section tyres, but I wanted a bit more comfort and to fill the arch as much as possible. They look great but with my eibach springs the clearance at the back is really small and the tyre has touched the wheel arch without the added weight of passengers in the car. So I bought some spring adjusters from Direct Car Parts and they have worked a treat. The rear of the car is now 10mm higher and the tyres don't catch.

Basically it's a plastic insert which assists the coil spring to stop it closing up so much when under pressure. See picture.

Bad idea imo as it stops the spring from doing what it needs todo!!!!!!

Have to disagree Andy. It's not like it's locked the spring up. I've installed them on mine right up near the top of the spring as recommended by the manufacturers, so it's right up there sitting between the coil and the contact plate of the underside of the car. I will try to get a photo loaded of them on my car. The vast majority of the spring is free to compress as it would normally. Effectively it's just raised the ride height and not altered the compression rate of the spring.
I think they're great, but if you don't like them, don't buy them.

Oh right, from the picture above i thought they were fitted between the coils half way down the spring!

I can see what you mean now! With it seated at the top of the spring it still alows it to travel as normal.
