I changed my mind about the Steimetz grille, so removed the clam and refitted the standard V grille 🙂

Still waiting for the new bonnet to be painted, mates rates and speed never seem to go hand in hand :LOL:

So thought I would inspect the catalytic converter after getting some weird mot emissions results ........... so another dead cat :mad:

was it a 200 cell ?
im happy to say mines survived its 2nd mot and when i took it of the other day it was mint inside not bad for £70

my hjs 200 cpi cat has done over 80k miles now and still passes mot 🙂
may gey a new one for the new 3" system though.

I am doing the last few jobs before finally getting the 2.5 engine mapped, so in goes a brand new fuel pump assembly 🙂

It is so quiet and holds the fuel pressure for ages (y)

standard OEM fuel pump assembly, the one which came from the Lotus shop with a free petrol tank 😃

In other news my spare front bonnet came back from the bodyshop, so that has been fitted. I am just waiting for some tigerseal to bond in the brand new grilles.

I finally got chance to fit the new front bonnet grilles the other evening, I have not had any chance to drive it for quite some time 🙁

So went for a drive in my vx yesterday, it is a damn quick car and makes my 280bhp astra seem like a snail :LOL:

No yet, had a slight set back, nothing major but a real pain in the butt :mad:

Brand new parts to be fitted;

pair of OEM oil cooler hoses
OEM coolant tank
ARP head studs
Cometic 90mm head gasket
GM timing chain kit
4 x Alloy blanking plugs to replace the Webcon 'core plugs' blocking the original injector holes

I have purchased a brand new oil cooler (not arrived yet) and also found a brand new coolant hose to fit 🙂

Oil cooler hoses, ARP head studs and the coolant hose

also made some permanent spacers for the rear diffuser, I got fed up with the stupid washers normally used

screwed on, so they don't fall off 😃

added some anti-corrosion paste

the new injector hole bungs fitted

I think the new copper head gasket is turning into the JE Piston saga I had to endure the other year 🙁

I also removed the remaining parts of the timing chain kit, which was new about eight years ago and has done about 6k, but the plastic sections have started to discolour due to old age.
It's not worth reusing and as they are quite cheap to buy I have already purchased a new GM chain kit , which is ready to fit along with a new oil pump gasket once the head gasket arrives.
