Wheres All My Oil Gone ?

Was coming home the other night and it came up on my warning light that oil was low - Low i thought ive just had a new oil change about 4 months ago and had shell helix put in - after a mile it went off and sed nothing - yesturday it came back on that oil is low - so i checked the dipstick and it was dry and i know that these 2.2 are a bugger for showin the right oil amount - anyway i thought i would put some in just in case.

no matter what i do i carnt get an excat reading - dependin if engine has been on - if i check when engine has been runnin its on the dipstick - engine left off then hardly anything - i dont want to overfill cus too less is better than too much...

where my oil all gone ? i know ive got a blowin manifold but would that effect it - ive checked my garage floor and under the car and can see no oil leak ???

the design of the dipstick measuring tube is bad

basically the dipstick goes into a tube in the block, this has a hole at the top and one near the bottom

I have the same problem on my z22se, I never really know how much oil is in the engine 🙁

but what appears to give a better reading is to twist the dipstick 360 degrees before pulling it out, but don't always work

Also how many miles have you done in 4months?

mine uses around 1/4 to 1/2 a litre every 1K
