Andy_Coupe Got a virus called Trojan Horse on my PC. The file name is U.exe threat name is Trojan Horse and its location is C: on my hard drive, its just been attempting to connect to the net but Norton stopped it on all attempts, i think its been there for a while as ive had prooblems with this before, i have just tried to delete the file to the recycle bin but it wouldnt go. I have quarantined it in Norton but still unable to delete the file! Any ideas guys notsure.gif
2_2berfurno u need to end the process it is carrying out ctrl alt del and tab to processes and end any that have strange names, usually works for then try to del it
vocky or run 'msconfig' under 'startup' disable the process and apply reboot, tick the box 'don't show modified startup again' then you should be able to delete the virus program
Andy_Coupe Norton has now let me delete it from quarantined. I think this all stems back from when i downloaded a copy of Nero from Kazaa last year which was infected and for some reason when i install Nero from a Demo disc or a downloaded demo version this Trojan Horse thingy comes back to try and fcuk my PC up notsure.gif
rushy You can go online with norton and it will give you a step by step guide on how to remove it. It will involve turning off system restore as that just makes copies of the virus and starting up the pc in safe mode.
