increasing engine power means brakes also need sorting

I discovered on vvoc that the omega 2.6 + 3.2 had vented rear disc's as standard 8)

and they fit the vec 😃

a quick search later, a trip to the west midlands and £100 lighter I had these.......

42mm vented rear disc calipers 😃

the discs were quite worn when I checked them at home, so going to get a new pair, only £130 for a pair + pads from vx

I also picked up a pair of front discs for my AP 4 pots 😃

just need to get a spare pair of hubs and modify them so the discs will bolt straight on

I have figured out a very easy way to modify them, see the spacers on the disc

the hub I used during developmment got slightly damaged rofl..

whats the difference between the discs apart from the fact they are vented.

same size, just vented :shock:

but they will not fade 😃

but the calipers are more powerful 😃

the standard size brake caliper piston is 35mm, the vented brake caliper pistons are 42mm

so you need a vented disc to remove the extra heat created by the bigger calipers

how are you going to re-balance the breaks. Are you gonna fit a pedal box or a regulator to the rear break lines?

I'm fitting 4 pots on the front 😃

if there's a problem, then a brake bias box or regulator will do the trick
