I'm not entirely sure if it can be done. The 2.2 cap contains a special valve in it. I'm not sure what the valve does but its there for a reason.
I destoyed a cap just to see what was inside. There was a large spring up thru' the middle of the cap and a rubber seal/valve above that. All of this was plastic welded together to contain the spring etc.
