EGR pipe modification

this mod is not for the faint hearted :shock:

as you can see in the pic the egr pipe restricts the flow into the inlet manifold

what I did was cut off the pipe sticking out into the opening, BUT the pipe then requires welding back together

my face was a picture when it fell in half rofl..

Gonna be taing my egr pipe of wen i put the other manifold on..

that's the better option 🙂

this is the shortened egr pipe

it does make a nice difference to throttle response 🙂

the crude drawing shows what gets cut off, the black dots are where the inner and outer sections were welded

vocky did you use a mig welder or braise it? the metal seems a little thin to use a mig

I used my mig 🙂

I welded downwards, so as the metal melted it became weld, I would have used gas, but don't have the kit anymore

it is quite thin, but small welds either side soon had it sealed
