Funny Rattle CDR500

My car has just started to make a funny light rattling noise at certain sound levels / bass levels.

I have upgraded the the door speakers and have a sub and amp. if i have bass set to any more then +1 then there is a funny vibrating noise coming from around the headunit area. If i press on the head unit while it's vibrating it nearly stops so it could be the heater vents.

How do i tighten up the HU?

Has anyone else had this problem?

If you remove the head unit from the centre console (remove the blanking plugs, and use a small hex key to remove the screws behind them). It will more than likely be the cage holding the stereo in place which is rattling, or a cable which is just touching the cage. Mine does it as well, and I've got a Sony head unit. I would take mine out and sort it, but I can't be arsed, as it's a bitch to get back in with all the adapters behind it, so I just turn it up so I can't hear it.

To remove the HU do i remove what seems to be the x4 small allen key grub screws from the front of the unit in each corner?

Never removed it myself before?

yeah remove the 4 screws then you'll need 2 U shaped pieces of metal to push in the holes, one for either side of the radio then it should pull out.

Ahh, forgot about that bit Andy, it's been 2.5 years since I removed mine.

lol, i only remembered about that bit cos i remember mine was a bugger to get out and i cut both my hands with them as i was pulling so hard lol.
