mikebrock Hi - the car went off the road for 8 months with the usual fuel pump failure. I bought the car last week and replaced pump, car now running ok to the ear. However - the Vectra failed mot on emissions today. The mot tester thinks a small hole in the exhaust system could be the problem? No error codes showing under diagnostics. Could he be right? The Vectra has done no miles at all since pump change. Anything else to change after new exhaust to get those emission numbers down?
vocky air filter and spark plugs, but if the mixture lambda sensor is faulty then that can affect emissions too
corsaZ22se Not always, they do part fail and alter mixture enough to cause problems. If exhaust leak is close to first lambda then that can cause problems to.
mikebrock Thanks guys - changing the air filter I realised there hadn't been one fitted! With new filter, spark plugs, new exhaust section I'm hoping that should be it? Won't find out till Monday though. I'll update then - cheers all.
mikebrock Passed mot - must have been air filter as emissions now within mot limits. Thanks for the suggestions folks.
