Fitting gates

Can I fit wooden gates onto concrete posts? Is there some sort of device I can buy to make them fit notsure.gif . I would have wooden posts but the sides of my drives gates are concrete, it's just much easier instead of fitting new posts and smashing the concrete away. Cheers for any info 🙂 :roll:

How big a gate u thinking of fitting mark..?
As u could always use some threaded bar and bolt some wooden posts to the concrete ones..

They will be 6ft mate, each. Adding wooden posts may make the drive smaller to get into. I would need to see how wide it is in full. It may be a good idea still 🙂. Cheers

Depends wot ure like with a saw and some wood mark...lol..

I will give anything a go mate. My drive way just seems so open with the metal ones I have on now.

I want them bigger and all solid so my 2 Rottweilers can come into the yard and just chill instead of attacking people walking past lol

Well personally i would get some nice 4 inch posts and bolt em to the inner face of the concrete ones mark,that way u shudnt lose any width of ure drive.

Sounds like a plan. I just need to get a good drill to put the posts onto the concrete posts. I have been wanting to do this since I moved in 🙂. Cheers

Get ureself an sds drill m8..will zip thru the concrete like butter...but remember theres steel bars running thru the posts too..

I'd highly recommend an SDS drill Mark, I've got a hammer drill, which is OK for most jobs, but anything like concrete and builders bricks it just sits there heating the bit. I borrowed an SDS one to fit my fencing on the back garden, as I fixed a 6" post to the wall, the SDSwent straight through the post and the wall 😃
