2.4 LE5 head on a z22se block?

Hey does anyone know if this has been done? Wanting to incorporate variable valve timing on the z22se. I understand the 2.4 comes in both a direct injection and port injected VVT versions in the USA. Was thinking to use the vvt head with port injection on a z22se then swap over the 2.4 ecu and/or wring loom to control it????

Sounds interesting @[deleted] is the man to ask , im sure I read a post of his recently and the vvt was mentioned.

Cheers, i know an alfa jts head cant be swapped because of the direct injection but as long as the physical dimensions line up with a vvt port ijnected head then the rest couldnt be too hard and surely a lot easier than the really impressive work that others have done around here on this donk......had done a search but but didnt notice anything 🙁

it will not work, because the 86mm z22se head gasket is too small for the 88mm 2.4 head.

I have checked it already 🙁

ps: I have a very cheap 9k 2.4 vvt available - £50

Does not have lifters, rockers, valves or valve springs. But has cam cover and the cams

Thanks for the offer - dirt cheap - but since its not compatible i have no use for it. Tell me @[deleted], courtenay sport claim to be able increase hp and torque across the board and increase fuel economy on their "cs10" head by sand blasting the head after reprofiling the ports. What do u make of that?? On here the consensus seems to be all that's needed is to open up the exhaust ports. What sort of HP and torque gains could one expect from that alone apart from other mods??

PS Ive just learned from the cobalt forums that there is a 2.2 VVT ecotec based on our z22se/L61 engine called the LAP without direct injection - AND - the VVT head is compatible with a z22se block!!. Would u believe the LAP has LESS torque and a lousy 8kw extra than a Z22se:banghead:
