Noisey Exhaust

I have a 53 plate 2.2 astra sri and each morning for a second upon starting there is a tapping noise, also the exhaust resonates between 2750 and 3250 rpm, anybody come across this. The dealer tells me its a design fault that Vauxhall are aware of.

Also rumble from the exhaust when blipping the throttle and letting it idle.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

sounds like mine! Mine on start up will tap, i thought it was the tappets. The noise will go after 1 min os so but then can be heard when excellerating in low revs, after a min or so it goes completely. Mines not always from cold, it will do it if stood for 15-30 mins aswell. Was told by a garage it could be the manifold gasket.

yeah, had this replaced along with the centre box by the dealer, didn't make much difference. Oh well it does go after a second or so, i suppose i can put up with it.
