C20NE flywheel.. what's the gen?

Will it fit the Z22SE and give that lighter fly thing or is it just a myth.. can't remember where I read it (probably on here) but haven't seen any firm facts.

I spoke to a guy who said the cav flywheel would need a hole adjusting (like a z20let would) i nearly did it to a lightened LET flywheel for mine but got my hands on a proper z22 lightened flywheel. I believe the cav flywheel is about 7kgs so would be very close to a lightened flywheel

Fitted a C20NE flywheel to my Z22SE. Had to file a hole slightly to get it to bolt on.

Didn't drive the car before fitting it as I bought it as spares or repairs, so cant really give a before and after.

I doubt that changed anything fitting that as it's a pot style flywheel so just as heavy no doubt.

A lightened Z22SE flywheel or similar helps it to rev up faster and make it less lethargic

It's about 2.5kg lighter than stock iirc..
I know what a lightened flywheel does, I was more interested in the real world effect of the c20ne one - at a fraction of the cost of a 'proper' one it might be a good option.

Not on the z22se specifically but I've heard reports in the past that stalling has been an issue with lightened flywheel.

Ah right 2.5kg is a bonus but not going to be hugely noticeable, with the 5kg Z22SE lightened one you do need to give it slightly more revs when pulling off but not much. It's more the older lightweight flywheels for say a c20xe that were sub 4kg you had to really give it revs else they stalled with ease

Ta mate... think I'll give up on that and just hold out for a balance delete instead.

My lightened flywheel weighs about 5kgs n a astra flywheel is about 10kgs n my dual mass was about15kgs. So i have a massive drop in weight of close to 10kgs. Plus the balance delete i thought it was me not beinguse to the new clutch (i keep stalling lol)
Didn't realise it was due to the flywheel lol 🙂 males me feel better
