Noise Nusiance

I'm at a loss at what I can do to get that chav scrote who lives next door to turn his music down :evil:

I have to go round prob 3/4 times a week to ask him to turn it down, and there is only him and 1 other person in the house. It wouldn't be as bad if the bass was turned down, but it's rediculous. The water in the fish tank in vibrating. This can go on from 7pm when he gets in from work till 11/12pm.

I've just come home from work for my dinner, had to go and ask him to turn it down, and he's turned it straight back up as soon as he's seen me get in the car. My fiancee has had to go to her parents for the afternoon, because she can't take it anymore.

It's that loud that he can't even hear me banging on his door so I can ask him to turn it down.

Anyone got any ideas? Because if it doesn't get sorted soon, I'm just going to batter the little shit!

slap an asbo on his ass get in touch with the local council and police see what steps you can take my parents have the same prob and now they have gone to court and now its sorted the neigbours are now away and an old couple have now moved in

His is the only remaining council house as well on our street, everone else owns theirs from what I've been told. I'll phone the council tomorrow and see what my options are. I've been looking on the web and found this site:

There is some useful info on there, and I've been going round since I first moved in to tell him to turn it down, so I think it's nearly at the point where I will need to invoice someone else to get this sorted

I've got something similar to this where I live. Our neighbours keep having parties until the early hours and stand in the back garden with the music banging out and shouting and swearing. We have been onto the council and the Police and we have to keep a log of whenever they have a party and phone them every time.

Its a pain in the F**KIN ASS!!

My daughter is 3 and my son is 10 months and trying to make sure they don't wake up is a nightmare.

I've been given some good advise on Astra-Sport:

Matt,

I used to deal with noise nusiance as part of my old job working for a housing association.

The first thing you need to be doing is keeping a record of the nuisance, when it's happening and how long for. Kinda like a dairy really, just keep a note of everything, even the times when you ask them to turn it down.

The next thing you need to do is contact Environmental Health at the council as they have a duty to deal with complaints of noise pollution and advise them of the situation.

The first thing they will ask for is a record of the incidents (so you need to start doing this) so they can then see for themselves the regularity/seriousness of the incidents.

Then if they are satisfied that there is a problem they will write to your neighbour advising them of the complaint and possible action if the nuisance persists, bear in mind they won't say who has complained.

Then if the nuisance continues they will then consider installing noise monitoring equipment in your property, which is usually a brief case sized piece of equipment which you literally press record when the nusiance is happening, so its not recording all the while. Basically if you manage to record nusiance that the council feels is unreasonable they can serve a noise abatement order on your neighbour and if they breach this order they will then be fined and also further action can be taken as they will have breached there tenancy conditions.

I feel for you as getting problems like this resolved is usually a long process, although i've dealt with the odd one where it suddenly stops after just one letter.. so fingers crossed for you!

Also try and get any other neighbours that are affected by it to keep a note aswell.
