Its 70k, vauxhall full service history and its a post 2006 so its the expensive tax! its a 280bhp model with the full heated electric recaro interior.

Yeah, 66k they were done.

Vx say there's no definitive interval when to do them, early vxrs with the 255 engine had chain issues, Later 280s didnt. People tend to do them once they get noisy.

That's one major headache sorted, would love one but wouldn't br happy with £500 tax! Rob dogs

Mines £300 which is way to much. If I had the performance id be a bit happier. Vxr8s are 500 a year aswell. I think I know which id rather have. Haha

did the chains on my silver zaf yesterday.
car run fine at idle last night.
started up this morning. at 1500 rpm and higher had a nice knocking noise. sump of revealed all 4 conrod bearings had been spun for some time.

engine is now on the ground. time to swap the crank out.

not an issue other than time i don't really have.

Iv got a gay n N in at the minute but this is cheap n just wondered what peoples thoughts was on them.

I had ITG on the VXR. No difference to the Pipercross IMO other than a lot more expensive (should have been £60 for the VXR)

That reminds me I best give it a clean. Its not bin done for about a year.

So im still waiting for a rocker gasket(dam plastic rocker cover)

But been perving on vectra xp2 cdti. All the vxr looks but great fuel economy. Think I need to start saving.

Finished engine swap yesterday. Now car won't start. Comes up with throttle body codes. Changed with a couple others still no change. Think engine harness is damaged so will swap it next week. It's the only part I'm not sure of its condition.

swapped over harness. car is running now. 🙂
