yes and no. for the price i've picked it up for its okay. i've looked at a few in worse condition that have gone for the same amount of money but in saying that what i'll end up spending on it i could probably get one that is in better condition but would have twice the km's on it and the chains still wouldn't of been done.
no matter which car i got plan was always to put new wheels and tyres on, do the chain kits even if they had been done because i'm a bit anal like that, brakes unless they were quality products used, suspension would be depending on condition.
the above is probably the most expensive part of it but no matter what car i got they would all be done. and being an astra i've got upgraded parts on the shelf already except for the timing chains.
body wise, i need to put a new bonnet on (got one in the shed), new rear bumper (around $100 new), only expense will be the boot but i'll wait till one comes up at the right price.
I'd say atleast half is not more of the astra verts here in aus for sale all have roof issues. I knew this car had an issue with it from the start.
The worst part of this car was getting it home. ended up costing me $800. could of got the car on a truck for less and wouldn't of needed to fly or spend 2 days away from work.
Give me 3 months and it will be a completely different car from what it is at the moment. Pending how the market is next year I may sell it and should still be able to make a bit of money on it.
