Pete_Marchant Hello all. The alternator on my car has failed and I am wondering if you REALLY need to do what it says in the Haynes manual to change it? Any short cuts etc please. Thank you.
Dave_Gilbert Disconnect battery Airbox off Support the engine engine mount off take the pressure off the tensioner and slip belt off. Take alternator connections off remove alternator. then reverse. i think thats all thats needed.

As you said but also had to take top coolant hose off of the head as it was in the way. Trying to put the belt back around the crank pulley was a nightmare though! Thanks for the tip.
