Well i got given my Grandads old Vectra after he passed away last year, but left it slowly going mouldy on my grandmas drive for months.
Anyway i recently had use for it as i needed to sent the haldex controller away for repair (for swmbos octavia).
Scrubbed the mould away, charged up a battery and she fired up, the Mrs used it last week, seems ok.
Its done 78,800 miles from new, 2.2 automatic LS.
Faults so far... Water leak in the boot i think from the rear quarter windows.
Slight chainy noise but not horrific, the engine actually goes very well, no nocks or bangs, very clean oil and coolant etc, infact mechanically its been really well looked after.
Body on the other hand is very tatty scratched etc, small bits of rust.
No warning lights, auto box is superb, tyres are all fantastic, the ride is brilliant.
I reckon there is a lot of life left in this, even if its just as a spare car, tip runner or for parts i suppose.
Im gonna stick a years mot on it next week (postdated so 13 months), i reckon it will sail through.
I dont have the logbook back yet but it should be on its way.
Dont suppose anyone would have a use for it would they?
I wont be needing it really (dont need 3 cars).
Got to be worth a few hundred with a years ticket?
