Broken Dipstick

Hi.
I was changing the oil on my Signum 2.2i today and when I pulled the dipstick to check the level, I discovered that the bottom of the dipstick has broken off. I suspect it is fallen down the tube.
Is it safe to drive or can this get into the engine?
Thanks for any advice in advance.

it cant get into the engine but you would have to remove the tube to get the bit out

So it will be safe to drive? Do you think it will still be in the tube and is it easy to remove?

heres a windows paint sketch of the sump the bit cant go anywhere theres a flat plate at the bottom of the sump that quite small
you may have fun removing the dipstick tube from the sump as they rust in place
if you were really worried you could drop the oil and remove the sump and give it a good clean out

Hopefully it will be ok to drive. Not got time or good weather to drop the sump..
Trip to the scrapies next week for a dipstick.

if you can get one out in one piece they are a pain in the back side to get out 🙂
