Wierd water pressure leak?

Had the strangest of problems earlier and it might come across wierd but it happened so guess there must be a reason.

I removed the rocker cover as I've been having on-going problems with the rocker cover gasket leaking and has been off a few times recently. I'm not sure what happened but on removing the bolt on the front, second from the left a high pressure of water shot through throwing the bolt in the air and the water hit the underside of the bonnet.

I've had a good search on this, but found nothing. How is it a large volume of water is able to come out of a hole where one of the bolts sit to hold the rocker cover down? - I guess something big is wrong? :confused:

Sounds a little strange. Could possibly be a crack in the head maybe in the spark plug area check if it is wet underneath spark plug when removed and check to see if you are losing water

Nice and dry where the spark plugs are. Just noticed that bolt sits above where a water pipe is connected to the head, thinking it may have cracked there 🙁

I've uploaded a picture, the arrow showing which bolt it was, does this mean it has somehow cracked underneath the thread? 🙁

Maybe you have used the wrong bokt there (having the rocker on n off)

Maybe used a longer 1 from somewhere else?

Afraid not, used the bolt that came out of it

Isnt that the hole where a water pipe comes out? To the coolant tank

Dave is correct there is a piece of threaded pipe that goes there. Where the long thin tube comes from the coolant tank and attaches there with a jubilee clip

So you have put a bolt in the wrong place it is a hollow tube that goes there for water to pass through this answers the water question before we see a pic.

I actually haven't put a wrong bolt in, I've done all the work correctly, I have no idea what has caused it!

As far as I'm aware all the bolts around the rocker cover are the same. The bolts holding the coil pack down are longer but I'm not daft enough to put those through

Have u got a pipe coming out of there? N just arrowed the wrong hole?

Yes it's the one above the pipe

Don't think the rocket cover is bolted down with that hole. you have undun a wrong bolt . That explains the water pressure because the system is still under pressure
