Gapless Playback on Video IPOD

Finally!

I've just updated to the new version of ITunes and the latest version of the software on my 30gig 5th Gen IPOD, V1.2, and they now support gapless playback for the mp3's.

This was one of my biggest issues with the IPOD, as most of the music I listen to is mixed, so I either had to have a gap inbetween the tunes, or rip the whole album as a single mp3 file. Not any more!!

So for example if i want to burn the latest Euphoria album to disc in mp3 format it will have no gaps when played back im my sony mp3 car unit?

No mate, only on the IPOD itslelf. The software used on the IPOD enables no gaps, so if you put the MP3's to a CD for use in the car, you'd still get gaps, because it had to load the MP3 to memory before it plays it.

Ahrrrr right, thought i was onto a winner then :roll: My itunes just flashed up the 7. whatever update and i thought thats what you were talking about. Oh well i hope some one works out something for the DJ mix listeners soon!!!

I know, all the stuff I have in the car, I join the MP3's together to create 1 track so there are no gaps in the mix.

How do you go about that? When i first got my mp3 auto changer in the car i spent hours ripping all my Euphoria albums plus other to mp3 only to be disapointed with that little gap betwwen tracks!

I use Sony Soundforge 8.0. It enables me to open all the tracks from an album, and copy/paste them into a new track, and re-save the mp3.
Or, if I've not already ripped to seperate tracks, I use dbPowerAmp Music Converter to rip from the CD as 1 single MP3 track.
